Domestic & Commercial EICR Electrical Certificate Tests in Chester-le-Street
An EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is a survey and report that checks that a building's electrical system is safe, and that fixtures are appropriate for that property. We provide EICR in Chester-le-Street for both domestic and commercial properties.

The only electrical appliances checked during the EICR survey are those that are permanently installed in the property, such as wall outlets and permanent light fixtures; it does not include non-permanent appliances, such as TVs, refrigerators, cookers, and so on, which fall under PAT testing.

Before the process begins, it helps, and in some cases is required, to provide floor plans, a count of all the fixtures in the property, and an understanding of the property's circuitry. After the assessment, the EICR will be created and delivered after a few days of administration.

If the EICR assessor finds things that need to be repaired, for small jobs they may be able to do the work on the day (subject to your approval). For more extensive work we can provide a quote for the work alongside the EICR. The standard time allowance for repairs is 28 days, but this may vary depending on urgency and danger. If the property has tenants and the problem is not resolved, landlords may face penalties.
