Solar PV EPC Need a D Rating?

Since April 2013 all properties being fitted with solar PV panels are required to have an EPC rating of at least a D grade if they are to qualify for the higher rate Feed in Tariff (FIT). Solar PV EPC surveys can take place before or after the install. As the rating will be better with the panels in place, you may well want to wait and have the panels included in the Solar EPC, however before you place an order you want to be sure that the property will be capable of achieving that all important D grade.
When we carry out a Solar PV EPC survey we are happy to visit the property and carry out the survey before the install takes place, then to hold off lodging the report on the government database until after the panels are fitted. This means that we are able to tell you what your EPC rating would be as is, and if you tell us the size of the proposed system we can also tell you what your Solar PV EPC rating will be after install.
Once the install has taken place you simply need to provide us with a copy of the installers 'MCS certificate' and a photo of the install. We will then add the system to the Solar PV EPC and lodge the report, giving you an accurate rating that reflects the improvements provided by you new solar panels. We do not charge any extra for this service.
